Botanical watercolours

In the summer of 2020 I participated in an online workshop on Botanical Watercolours, offered through the Berlin Drawing Room. It inspired me to find specimens locally and observe their details closely, while learning more about the wonderful ways of watercolour. All paintings are aproximately 21x30cm.

A spikey plant living in water, Ceratophyllum demersum or hornwort. During the summer it is abundant in a lake where I often swim, and is unpleasant and scratchy to swim through. However it is a sign of clean water and serves beneficial for some marine life.

Echium vulgare or viper's bugloss, found growing wild in a local green area. A favourite of bees!

Both candy beets were from a local farm, such impressive colour inside!
